Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen, for it has been too long, and nobody even thought of this series of course but that’s ok. It’s not for the people. It’s for beavers. Or bobers. This one once again dives back into the sound of the 90s dnb, and even the jump-up one, if you have been reading these, you should not be shocked at all. Yes this is how they sounded back in the day. Weird, right? Well bring me today’s music and I will tell you the same. Also that they sound like utter crap and the hours wasted on production were actually wasted on production. But since the music industry always knows better, we old folk have nothing better than to yell at clouds and go back to these classics every now and then and hope that someone will actually pay attention

well anyway. So this is again from the Urban Takeover album we have visited already a few times, and this one is just the archetype of how a hip-hop song should be remixed into DnB. It is just how it is. I’m sorry.

I’m especially sorry for all you young people who believe you have a fkin iPad and all those apps and you make all those BEATS (swear to the japanese god, if anyone comes up to me that hey i made these BEATS i’m just going to disembowel them with a wooden cooking spoon. There’s a George Carlin reference for ya).

So no. NO. NO NO NO NO. You can’t do this. Is this in any way soooo interesting for today’s youth? NO IT ISN’T. And it shouldn’t be. Today’s youth should very well immerse in this whole music industry crap that they are supporting by buying all that crap that is coming out every 4 minutes from their PRODUCERS who make BEATS and OMG BRO such BEAT like WOW


ok ok back to the point. So this one is actually a remix of a very popular hiphop song, that was on itself on the radio those days (remember those days? like radio? and it had songs and shit? right? not just propaganda and the song whoever paid the most for to be played like 28374x a day? yeah, it was a long time ago).

So what i like about Mr. Gavin King is that he has this way of building stuff up. And if you don’t pay attention (well WHY WOULD you, right? you want a HOOK in the first 25 seconds, otherwise you click NEXT in your fucking spotify or whatever)

jeez i really can’t let go of the hate here, can i. ah well

so what mr. aphrodite does is that he has like 8 tricks. but he will use each and every one of those, and it just fkin WORKS, as todd howard would say.

I mean, if you are beyond the pop-crap, you can see this, or rather, HEAR this. His tricks are kinda the same every time. But they just WORK. And the basslines are fantastic, and the editing of the original, especially the vocals, this is MASTER shit right here folks. It’s just waaaay more creative than today’s ANYTHING.

And it’s not like people had this in their fucking bedroom, like Billie fkin Eilish and HIS brother (haha), because in the 90s it was not there, like, yeah, really! This was mostly analogue shit and you had to know your stuff to do this in a studio. Not like grabbing my fucking iPAD to make BEATS.

#@?$$#@%?>$#^ ok yes I just want to take a vinyl of this and beat these self-absorbed so-called music producers to death with it, while yelling at clouds. (which one though, AWS, Azure, google cloud? probably azure as it is at least blue).

So give this one a try if you can, and as the general rule on the site: not just once. Please. Give it the respect it deserves. I honestly evaluate everything I put here and if it’s not worth it, it’s not getting here. So trust me. Or don’t. Whatever.

But if you squeeze this one within 2 BEATS that are so KILLER YO and they just BUZZ FAM, then please remember that this may not be for you.

So the 90s British stuff is here once again, we’ll probably come back to it soon enough, but for now, just try to embrace it, and i’ll see you again next time. I have some pretty good ones coming up, just sometimes can’t prevent life getting in the way.
